Many of us may feel that we are powerless to influence the way our world works
or the way things play out. This simply is not true.
Each of us is essential and none of us is here by accident or coincidence,
regardless of the circumstances of our birth, our situations, our economic
status, our abilities or level of awareness. We were created with intent. Each
of us has something unique and precious to offer, something only we can do, an
impact only we can make.
Sometimes we forget or lose sight of our personal power in the day to day
demands of living and the distractions of circumstances, the environment, or the
events that surround us.
Each of us impacts the world around us with our thoughts, words, and actions.
With our kindness or lack of it.
With our ability to forgive or the choice not to do so.
With our bright vision or dark prophecy.
With the gift of our love or our choice to withhold it.
All these are personal choices and decisions whether we realize it or not. In
this lies our personal power to create our world, which is a gift that all of us
share.
We may not be famous but we are memorable. Without exception. And each of us
impacts more lives both directly and indirectly than we can possible imagine.
I have no idea where I heard the following story, it was many years ago, but it
made an incredible impact on me at the time and recently came to mind. My
sincere thanks to the originator, who is unknown to me.
--- There was a person who called out to the creator in frustration:
“Where are you? Don’t you see what’s happening here?
The world is in turmoil. People are at each other’s throats. There is fear and
uncertainty. We're in serious trouble! We need help! Why don’t you send
someone to straighten this out?”
And the answer came: “I did send someone. I sent you.” --
As we contemplate the past and prepare for the future, we can take the present
moment to reacquaint ourselves with who we truly are. We then can make personal
decisions to act on that truth and to do what we can to exemplify what we value
most.
Yesterday is a memory
Tomorrow is a dream
Today is in the palm of your hand.
Have a Great Day and be good to yourself. You deserve it!
